In 2025, the Solomon Islands introduced a bold, eye-catching new collectible coin series called Bullion Giants. Struck by the German minting house MDM (Münzhandelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG), this series is more than mere bullion—it’s a numismatic tribute to some of the most famous bullion motifs from around the world.

What sets the Bullion Giants apart is their design. These coins are dome-shaped (plateau minting), giving a raised or curved relief that enhances the visual effect of the motifs. The reverse side of both the gold and silver versions features seven iconic bullion designs, arranged artistically around a central roundel. The seven motifs included are:

• the Panda known from the Chinese Gold Panda and Silver Panda coins
• Lady Britannia from the British Gold Britannia coins
• the Kangaroo from the Australian Gold Kangaroo and Silver Kangaroo coins

The central roundel displays the intertwined letters BG (for Bullion Giants), the text BULLION GIANTS, and the year 2025. Each coin’s obverse bears the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, along with the issuing country (Solomon Islands), metal purity, weight, and denomination.

There are two main variants:

1. Gold Version

• Weight: 40 grams of .999 fine gold, which is about 1.286 troy ounces.
• Diameter: 40 mm.
• Denomination: 25 Solomon Islands dollars.
• Mintage: Extremely limited—only 49 pieces worldwide. Each coin is individually numbered.
• Presentation: Comes in a display box with Certificate of Authenticity.

2. Silver Version

• Weight: 50 grams of .999 fine silver (approx. 1.6075 troy ounces).
• Diameter: 50 mm.
• Denomination: 5 Solomon Islands dollars.
• Mintage: More abundant but still limited—999 pieces worldwide. Each silver coin is also individually numbered.
• Special feature: The silver coins have selective gold gilding (gold plating) on the reverse motifs, highlighting the different bullion symbols.

The Bullion Giants series is notable for combining multiple bullion coin motifs into a single piece.
