Heartland Precious Metals prides itself on its ethical business practices. It sells bullion coins and bars out of gold, silver, platinum and palladium and it also assists its customers with gold IRA's. The website belongs to the American company 15 Luke 8910, L.L.C. that is based in Edmond (Oklahoma). Heartland Precious Metals does not offer paper metal investments or secure vault storage of the purchased bullion products.
Heartland Precious Metals has a very transparent pricing policy and doesn't charge any commissions or other hidden fees. Besides the spot price of the metal that updates every second, current buy and sell prices (along with quantity discounts) are displayed for every product. Prices will be locked in for 10 minutes when the customer starts the check out process. In some cases, the locked in price might differ slightly from the price that was displayed at the time of check out (due to prices changing every second, faster than the website can update itself). If a customer doesn't like the captured price, he can always cancel the transaction before placing the order or remove the article in question and then add it again. Heartland Precious Metals also offers its customers the opportunity to set up free market alerts, that will inform the customers once the market reaches their set price.
Orders can be placed online 24/7 but there are minimum order amounts of $1.000 (shipments to the USA) and $2.500 (shipments to Canada). After clicking on 'Checkout', prices will be locked in for 10 minutes to give the customer enough time to complete the checkout process. Upon completion of the order process, Heartland Precious Metals will send out a confirmation email with the respective order confirmation number. Orders can also be placed by phone (call (877) 360-3945 and Press 1 for the Trading Desk), which is advisable for order amounts that exceed $100.000 as Heartland Precious Metals may require a 10% deposit before confirming such large orders. The 10% deposit might also be requested when ordering from outside North America.
Heartland Precious Metals does not accept order cancellations after the order has been confirmed. When a customer does not meet his obligations regarding payment (or other reasons), Heartland Precious Metals will cancel the order and charge the customer a $50 cancellation fee plus possible market loss fees.
Orders that will be held in a Gold IRA are also possible. Heartland will deliver the order to the IRA depository after the IRA custodian has wired the funds to Heartland. Customers can find the names and contact details of several recommended IRA custodians at the Heartland website.

Heartland accepts payment in US Dollars via bank wire, certified check, money order, cashier’s check or personal check. Payment must be dated within the 24 hours after placing the order and received within 5 or 3 business days thereafter (see table underneath) depending on the total order amount. Payment instructions will be given on the last page when ordering online and again by email.
The following forms of payment are NOT accepted: credit card payments, PayPal (or other online money transfers), Third Party Checks, C.O.D. Sales Orders, ACH transactions. Online bill payments are ONLY accepted in the form of checks.
When paying by check, there will be a processing period of 7 - 10 business days before shipment is initiated. Shipping to the USA is free of charge and shipping to Canada costs approximately US$ 34.95 plus a weight surcharge of around US$ 0.15 per troy ounce plus a possible delivery location surcharge. Heartland ships by U.S. Mail, UPS, Federal Express or other common carrier and all shipments are discreetly packaged and fully insured in transit. All shipments are trackable and may require a signature upon delivery.
Customers can request to exchange their received products by calling the Customer Service Department at (877) 360-3945 (press 2 for Customer Service). If Heartland agrees to an exchange, customers will receive written confirmation that the exchange request has been approved. Any possible exchange must be made within 14 business days after shipment was received by the customer.
